Shukufuku no Sakazuki — Sixteen Facets
Shukufuku no Sakazuki — Sixteen Facets

Shukufuku no Sakazuki — Sixteen Facets is a Gin Dendō sakazuki (sake cup) made of forged pure silver, shaped into a vessel with sixteen facets.

The number eight has long been cherished as a symbol of prosperity and expansion.
Its outward-spreading form evokes a sense of growth, prosperity, and good circulation.

Sixteen facets are formed by layering this number eight.
By adding another layer of expanse to one, this vessel is designed to receive blessings more deeply and in more directions.

Silver is a material whose expression changes with light.
The sixteen facets each receive light at a different angle, revealing a new expression every time it is held.

A straight surface.
A slightly undulating surface.
A light-reflecting surface.
A surface quietly embracing shadow.

All of these come together in one vessel, fitting perfectly in your hand.

This sakazuki is shaped through forging.
By hammering, stretching, raising, and refining the silver, the vessel's form is created.

The sixteen facets are not merely decorative.
They represent blessings not being confined to one direction, but repeatedly unfolding over time for the user.

Pouring sake, picking it up, bringing it to the lips.
During these actions, the silver surfaces change with the light, and the vessel gradually embodies the user's time.

Retirement, sixtieth birthday, promotion, starting a business, family celebrations.
Using this sakazuki at life's milestones quietly preserves the meaning of that day.

Shukufuku no Sakazuki — Sixteen Facets is a silver vessel that embraces celebratory moments and imbues them with meaning each time it is used.
